Why CNC Router ???

"CNC Router”, plays an important  role while "modernizing the cutting/machining shops" by replacing the conventional methods with computerized one.
The general application areas of CNC Router are in wood working, signage industries, furniture, architect and builders for interiors, industrial prototyping, decoration etc..

The materials commonly machined using CNC Router are all type of Natural and Artificial wood, plastics, rubber, aluminium sheets, ACM, lime stone ,marble, sythetic materials etc....and harder material like steel, granite, brass etc.....for engraving and light duties only.

"CNC Routers" are computer-controlled machines that are capable of cutting complex two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) shapes with router bits that spin at high speeds. CNC routers consist of a mechanical base, linear rails and bearings, stepper motor or servo motor, lead screws or ball screws, power supply, and stepper motor drive or servo motor drive. The mechanical base is the frame that holds all of the router’s components together. Several construction styles are available. C-frame routers have a frame shaped like the letter “C” and include a compound X/Y table and vertical Z-axis column.

Gantry-style routers are constructed with a stationary table and a bridge that spans vertical columns. All gantry routers have three moving axes: X, Y, and Z.  Four-axis devices have an additional moving axis. In five-axis configurations, the router head includes rotary and angular axes. Six-axis cnc routers are usually articulated robots with a router head attachment. Articulated robots have arms with three rotary joints.
CNC stands for computer numerical control, and refers specifically to a computer "controller" that reads instructions and drives a machine tool, a powered mechanical device typically used to fabricate components by the selective removal of material.

CNC does numerically directed interpolation of a cutting tool in the work envelope of a machine. The operating parameters of the CNC can be altered via a software load program.CNC Router considered to be  lighter version of CNC Milling Machine and/or CNC lathe or combination of both .The structure  more often seen in Gantry style. In other way, CNC Router is a development on normal hand operated Router with computerized controlled movement of cutting tool with speed, feed and other machining parameters.

CNC Router News : CNC Router is not totally a new machine to the world. Its as old as any other CNC Milling and CNC Lathe machines. Even though it was not widely used as other machines. But in this decade we could see the market slowly developed for CNC Router. Now there is a number of CNC Router manufactures in different parts of the world. They envisage better market potential in other countries also.

On the otherside, shop owners found it imperative to automate to bring more quality, creativity, precision,   fast  and timely  delivery  of thier  product.
CNC Router can more effectively utilised when used  with supporting technologies like ; CAD/CAM, Rapid Prototyping,  Reverse Engineering,  CMM,  Networking, Simulation, CAE, NC, DNC..

CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) systems used to design and manufacture products. The term CAD/CAM implies that an engineer can use the computer system both for designing a product and for controlling manufacturing processes. For example, once a design has been produced with the CAD component, the design itself can be used to program  the toolpaths / NC codes that control the machines that construct the part.

What is CNC Router?
Posted by: Pradeep Kumar - 30/01/12 @ 10:25PM
A CNC router is a computer controlled tool for cutting various type of product such as wood, plastic, aluminum, steel and other kinds of metal. CNC routers comes in many configurations including the small home style known as “Desktop CNC Router” to the larger ones known as “Gantry CNC Routers” which are used on boat making facilities. Though there are many configurations, still most of the CNC routers have a few specific parts in common, likes CNC...

CNC Woodworking – At This Time And The Future
Posted by: News Bureau cncrouter.info - 25/01/12 @ 8:10AM
Due to their being more versatile and their being extra reasonably priced, today’s CNC machining centers (and consequently, the woodworking business) are getting extra distinguished and in the information lately. This upbeat mood seems prevalent among machinery experts around the country.
Amid at the moment’s turbulent economic situations, CNC automation becomes sensible, industry consultants declared. They contend that automating the reducing course of brings...

Delcam plc : Delcam’s ArtCAM speeds ice bar production
Posted by: News Bureau cncrouter.info - 25/01/12 @ 7:44AM
Using Delcam's artistic CADCAM software, ArtCAM, has reduced greatly the amount of time needed by Peter Fogarty of Fire and Ice Creations to create ice carvings, including complete bars cut from ice.
A recent project for La Bodega Tapas Bar and Grill, in Regina, Saskatchewan, highlighted the savings.  Each year, the restaurant has a sculpted ice bar on its patio from the last week in November to the...
